About the Event
Dr Stef will continue this monthly series of Islamic History in Europe and how this relates to our Muslim European Identity, by presenting us the history of the Saracens. Or rather those falsely labelled as such!
This history covers the whole of western and a part of central Europe (France & Switzerland). Dr Stef will begin with an open presentation of the subject, any one is able to ask questions in between.
Then after those 40 minutes, the Dr will open the discussion fully, for you to ask and comment on what was said.
Subjects Covered:
1) The Saracens, who were they?
2) Who were the Franks?
3) The Muslim-Frankish Struggle for control
4) 732, Tours & Poitiers, Significant or not?
5) Fraxinetum, flourishing in the heart of tribulation
6) The Muslim Economic Influence on Swiss Land
7) Memories Of The Muslims
