Because when some of these scholars and people believe the Muslims should give Ayasofya back to the orthodox Christians, who exactly are muslims actually supposed to give it back too because we can argue that many of the day descendants of Byzantine people who built it and worshipped in it are probably muslims today.

Yes , i understand we are mixed people and everything and it's irrelevant to Islam, but based on what I've researched maybe 1 million turks came to anatolia from central asia who were already muslim and that there were already 10 million inhabitants in anatolia (greeks, anatolians, armenians etc.) So my question is did these local Byzantine and native anatolians accept Islam under the influence of the Muslim turks who opened anatolia and the following türkic tribes that settled ? which leads to a question about the Ayasofya. Could it be that the same people are who were worshipping in the Ayasofya as christians back then are now worshipping in the Ayasofya as muslims because most of the inhabitants are locals to İstanbul and anatolia who converted to Islam ?
